-violating interactions at quark level generate -violating nuclear forces which could be revealed by looking at the presence of a permanent nuclear electric dipole moments. Within the framework of chiral effective field theory and thanks to the modern techniques, it is possible to perform realistic calculation for the electric dipole moment of the light nuclei. In this work we present the calculation of the electric dipole moments of H, He and H discussing the systematic errors introduced by the truncation of the chiral expansion. The -violating nucleon-nucleon and three-nucleon potential up to next-to-next-to leading order (N2LO) derivation will be also discussed. Moreover, we introduce some recent renormalization argument which indicates that a promotion of the short-distance operator to leading-order is needed to have a consistent picture of the -violating nuclear forces.
